Hopefully, we all have fond memories of the delicious smell of chicken baking in the oven.
Many of us have tried to come up with the perfect method of preparing (not burning) this dish.
It is actually very simple and the results are finger-licking (no disrespect to the Colonel) good.
The following recipe is as goud as it gets.
4 chicken leg/thigh portions (Your may use any chicken parts you desire.)
2 teaspoons Mr. Goudas Seasoning Sauce
2 teaspoons Mr. Goudas Green Seasoning
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
2 teaspoons Mr. Goudas Trinidad Hot Sauce optional)
Wash chicken and cut each leg/thigh portion into 4 pieces.
Place chicken parts in large bowl.
Pour seasoning sauce, green seasoning, garlic powder and black pepper over chicken.
Cover bowl and shake gently to allow ingredients to blend into the chicken.
Allow 1 or 2 hours for chicken to marinate and absorb all the ingredients (seasoning).
You may do this preparation overnight and refrigerate for use the next day.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Arrange chicken pieces on large baking tray and place in oven.
(There will be some liquid marinade left in the bowl when chicken pieces are removed.
Use this marinade to base the chicken just before turning over the pieces and return tray to oven.)
After approximately 25 minutes remove tray and turn chicken pieces over.
Using a pastry brush, baste chicken with marinade and return to the oven for an additional 30 minutes.
Remove baking tray from the oven once again.
Pierce one piece of chicken with a fork to determine if it is cooked.
If the meat is still pink on the inside, this indicates that it is not cooked.
Baste, turn over and return chicken to oven and bake for an additional 15 -20 minutes.
When fully cooked, place chicken on a serving dish.
May be served with: rice, pasta, bread/rolls, cold salads or side salad.
Mr. Goudas B for Best Sauce is excellent with this.
